Stop the Tire Burn

International Paper is proposing to burn tires at its plant on Lake Champlain without installing new pollution controls. Vermont is straight downwind.

What can you do about this?

Attend the hearing on Wednesday, Nov. 9 (free bus transportation available). Gicv money to the energetic non-profit group fighting the tire burn. Let your elected representatives know you oppose this ridciulous plan. Reach out to friends who are New York residents and ask them to voice their opposition. And, oh yes -- cut your paper usage and put less wear on your tires by driving less.

More on the proposed test burn -- possibly coming in January to a state near you -- and how to stop it at:

Thank you, Greg, for spreading the word about this important issue. We cannot have healthy bodies or a healthy society without clean air, water, and soil!
Manny Blessings!
